Ingredients
- 350 g spaghetti, broken in half
- 500 g ground beef
- 3 cups marinara sauce
- 3 cups water or broth
- 1 onion, diced
- 3 cloves garlic
- 1 tbsp Italian seasoning
Instructions
- Set the Instant Pot to saute and brown the beef with the onion and garlic, then drain.
- Stir in the Italian seasoning.
- Scatter the broken spaghetti over the beef in a crisscross layer.
- Pour the water and marinara over the top without stirring, pressing the pasta under the liquid.
- Seal and pressure cook on high for 8 minutes, then quick-release.
- Stir well, let it rest a few minutes to thicken, and serve.
💡 Chef's tip
Layer the broken pasta and liquid without fully stirring before sealing; this prevents the noodles from clumping and sticking to the bottom.
Cooking the pasta directly in the sauce lets the noodles absorb the flavor and release starch that thickens the sauce, something boiling separately never achieves.
