Berry Smoothie Bowl

Berry Smoothie Bowl

A berry smoothie bowl is a thick, spoonable blend of frozen berries and banana topped with crunchy granola and fresh fruit. It is cold, creamy, and naturally sweet, making it a refreshing breakfast or snack you eat with a spoon. The vibrant purple base and colorful toppings make it as pretty as it is nourishing.

Ingredients

  • 200 g frozen mixed berries
  • 1 frozen banana
  • 3 tbsp yogurt
  • 50 ml milk
  • to top granola and seeds

Instructions

  1. Add frozen mixed berries and a frozen banana to a blender along with just a splash of milk or juice to help it move.
  2. Blend on low and pulse, scraping down the sides as needed, until the mixture is thick, smooth, and scoopable rather than pourable.
  3. Add a tablespoon of liquid at a time only if the blender stalls, keeping the base as thick as soft serve.
  4. Pour the thick base into a chilled bowl and smooth the top with the back of a spoon to make a flat canvas for toppings.
  5. Arrange toppings such as granola, fresh berries, banana slices, coconut flakes, and a drizzle of nut butter in neat rows, then serve right away before it melts.

💡 Chef's tip

Use frozen fruit and only a splash of liquid so the base stays thick enough to hold toppings, because too much liquid turns it into a drinkable smoothie that cannot support garnishes.

The key is a much thicker blend than a drinkable smoothie: use frozen fruit and minimal liquid so it holds a spoon and the toppings sit on top instead of sinking.
