Easy Beef Tacos
Easy beef tacos are a weeknight favorite built on seasoned ground beef tucked into warm tortillas with fresh toppings. The beef is cooked with a blend of spices that brings warmth and depth, while crisp lettuce, juicy tomato, and melty cheese add contrast in every bite. They come together fast and let everyone build their own taco just the way they like it.

Ingredients
- 500 g ground beef
- 2 tbsp taco seasoning
- 8 tortillas
- 1 cup lettuce, shredded
- 1 cup cheese, grated
Instructions
- Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat and add the ground beef, breaking it apart with a spoon as it browns for about 6 to 8 minutes.
- Tilt the pan and spoon off the excess grease, leaving just a little behind to carry the spices.
- Stir in chili powder, cumin, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and a splash of water, then simmer for 3 to 4 minutes until the mixture is moist and well coated.
- Warm the tortillas in a dry pan for about 20 seconds per side or wrap them in foil and heat in a 175C (350F) oven until soft and pliable.
- Spoon the seasoned beef into each tortilla, being careful not to overfill so the taco folds without tearing.
- Top with shredded lettuce, diced tomato, grated cheese, and a dollop of sour cream, then serve immediately while the beef is hot.
💡 Chef's tip
Drain most of the fat from the beef but leave a thin coating in the pan, then add a splash of water with the spices so the seasoning clings evenly to every crumble.
A splash of water added with the spices lets the beef simmer into a saucy, clingy filling instead of drying out into loose crumbles.
