Blender Mango Lassi

Blender Mango Lassi

This blender mango lassi is a cool, creamy Indian yogurt drink with the bright tropical sweetness of ripe mango in every sip. It comes together in under five minutes and makes a refreshing breakfast, snack, or soothing partner to a spicy meal. Serve it well chilled in tall glasses with a pinch of cardamom on top.

Ingredients

  • 250 g frozen mango
  • 200 g yogurt
  • 150 ml milk
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • a pinch cardamom

Instructions

  1. Add 1 and a half cups of ripe mango chunks, fresh or frozen, to the blender as the base of the drink.
  2. Pour in 1 cup of plain whole-milk yogurt and half a cup of cold milk for a smooth, pourable consistency.
  3. Add 2 tablespoons of honey or sugar and a small pinch of ground cardamom for that classic warm aroma.
  4. Blend on high for about 60 seconds until the mixture is completely smooth and frothy with no fruit lumps.
  5. Check the texture, then add a splash more milk to thin it or a few more mango chunks to thicken it to your liking.
  6. Taste and adjust the sweetness, blending briefly again if you add more honey.
  7. Pour into two tall glasses and finish with a light dusting of cardamom or a few chopped pistachios, then serve immediately while cold.

💡 Chef's tip

Use frozen mango chunks instead of ice to chill and thicken the lassi, because ice waters down the flavor as it melts while frozen fruit keeps it intensely mango all the way through.

A pinch of ground cardamom is the detail that separates a real lassi from a plain mango smoothie - it adds the warm, floral note found in Indian sweet shops.
