Blender Chocolate Avocado Mousse
Blender Chocolate Avocado Mousse is a rich, decadent dessert that uses ripe avocado to create a remarkably smooth and creamy texture without any heavy cream or eggs. It tastes intensely chocolatey and indulgent, yet it is dairy-free and packed with good fats, making it a guilt-free treat for two. Serve it chilled in small glasses topped with berries or a dusting of cocoa.

Ingredients
- 2 ripe avocados
- 4 tbsp cocoa powder
- 4 tbsp maple syrup
- 3 tbsp plant milk
- 1 tsp vanilla
Instructions
- Halve two ripe avocados, remove the pits, and scoop the flesh into a blender, discarding any brown or stringy parts so the mousse stays smooth and clean tasting.
- Add about 40 grams (one third cup) of unsweetened cocoa powder, 60 millilitres (one quarter cup) of maple syrup or honey, a splash of plant milk, and a pinch of salt to round out the flavor.
- Blend on high speed for about 1 to 2 minutes, stopping to scrape down the sides as needed, until the mixture is completely smooth with no lumps of avocado remaining.
- Melt about 30 grams (one ounce) of dark chocolate gently in the microwave in short bursts or over a water bath, then pour it into the blender and blend again briefly so it incorporates and enriches the mousse.
- Taste and adjust the sweetness, adding a little more syrup if you prefer it sweeter, and blend once more to combine.
- Spoon the mousse into two serving glasses and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes so it firms up and the flavors meld, then serve cold topped with fresh berries or a light dusting of cocoa.
💡 Chef's tip
Make sure the avocados are perfectly ripe and soft, and use a little warm melted dark chocolate folded in at the end to mask any vegetal note and give the mousse a deeper, more authentic chocolate flavor.
Ripe avocado blends into a texture indistinguishable from classic mousse, and the cocoa completely masks any avocado flavor - even skeptics never guess.
