Classic BLT Sandwich

Crispy bacon, ripe tomato and crunchy lettuce stacked on toasted bread - the perfect three-ingredient sandwich.

Ingredients

  • 4 strips bacon
  • 2 slices bread
  • 1 tomato
  • 2 leaves lettuce
  • 1 tbsp mayonnaise

Instructions

  1. Fry the bacon until crisp; drain.
  2. Toast the bread and spread with mayo to the edges.
  3. Layer lettuce, salted tomato and bacon.
  4. Close, slice diagonally and serve.

💡 Chef's tip

Salt the tomato slices and pat them dry before building - it concentrates flavor and removes the water that makes BLTs soggy.

Toasting the bread and spreading mayo to the very edges creates a moisture barrier, so the BLT stays crisp instead of going soggy from the tomato.
