Air Fryer Chicken Tenders
Air fryer chicken tenders are golden, crispy, and juicy inside with a fraction of the oil of deep frying. The breadcrumb coating crisps up beautifully in the circulating hot air. They are a fast, kid-friendly dinner that beats any frozen version.

Ingredients
- 700 g chicken tenderloins
- 1/2 cup flour
- 2 eggs
- 1.5 cups breadcrumbs
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp paprika
- as needed oil spray
Instructions
- Toast the breadcrumbs in a dry pan until golden, then mix with the garlic powder and paprika.
- Set up flour, beaten eggs, and the seasoned breadcrumbs.
- Coat each tender in flour, then egg, then breadcrumbs.
- Arrange in a single layer in the air fryer basket and spray with oil.
- Air fry at 200C (400F) for 10 to 12 minutes, flipping halfway.
- Cook until golden and the chicken reaches 75C (165F), then serve.
💡 Chef's tip
Spray the breaded tenders lightly with oil before cooking; this helps the coating crisp and turn golden instead of looking dry and powdery.
Toasting the breadcrumbs in a dry pan before breading is the trick to deep golden tenders, since the air fryer alone does not brown raw crumbs as evenly.
