Air fryer bacon comes out perfectly crisp and evenly cooked with zero splatter on your stovetop. The fat drips away as it cooks, leaving crunchy strips and an easy cleanup. It is the simplest way to make bacon for a crowd.

  • 8 bacon strips

Instructions

  1. Lay the bacon strips in a single layer in the air fryer basket, not overlapping.
  2. Add a tablespoon of water to the drawer below to prevent smoking.
  3. Air fry at 180C (350F) for 8 to 10 minutes for chewy, or 11 to 12 for extra crisp.
  4. Check halfway and rearrange if needed for even cooking.
  5. Transfer to paper towels to drain.
  6. Serve hot, or save the rendered fat for cooking.

💡 Chef's tip

Lay the strips in a single layer and check early, since thin bacon can go from perfect to burnt in a minute.

Adding a tablespoon of water to the bottom drawer keeps the dripping fat from smoking, a common issue when air frying bacon.
