Beef and Broccoli

Tender strips of beef and crisp-tender broccoli in a savory brown sauce - a takeout classic made better at home.

Ingredients

  • 400 g flank steak, sliced
  • 400 g broccoli
  • 3 tbsp soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp oyster sauce
  • 3 cloves garlic

Instructions

  1. Blanch broccoli 1 minute, then drain.
  2. Sear sliced beef in a hot wok until browned; remove.
  3. Stir-fry garlic, add sauces and a splash of water.
  4. Return beef and broccoli, toss to coat and serve.

💡 Chef's tip

Slice the beef across the grain into thin strips - it is the difference between tender and chewy.

Blanching the broccoli for one minute before stir-frying locks in its bright green color and keeps it crisp-tender instead of raw-hard or soggy.
