Ingredients
- 350 g salmon fillet, skinless
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1/2 tsp salt
Instructions
- Pat skinless salmon fillets very dry with paper towels, then cut into uniform one and a half inch cubes for even cooking.
- In a bowl whisk together a tablespoon of olive oil, a tablespoon of honey, a tablespoon of soy sauce, one grated garlic clove, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper.
- Add the salmon cubes and toss gently to coat, letting them marinate for ten minutes so the glaze can penetrate.
- Preheat the air fryer to 200C (400F) for three minutes.
- Arrange the salmon bites in a single layer in the basket with a little space between them so the hot air can circulate.
- Air fry for seven to nine minutes, gently shaking the basket halfway through, until the edges are caramelized and the fish flakes easily with a fork.
- Check that the center is just opaque, taking care not to overcook, then transfer to a plate.
- Drizzle any remaining glaze over the top, garnish with sesame seeds and sliced green onion, and serve right away.
💡 Chef's tip
Pat the salmon completely dry before seasoning and do not overcook it, because salmon bites turn from buttery to dry quickly and are ready the moment they flake yet still look slightly translucent in the center.
Cutting the salmon into even 1-inch cubes is what keeps the outside crisp while the center stays just-cooked - larger pieces dry out before they color.
